OFF GRID SOLAR POWER SYSTEMS

For homes that do not have access to the electricity grid an Off-Grid solar power system can be the most cost effective way to provide electricity.

In a situation where power is consumed day and night the system can best be configure using a solar grid inverter with the solar panels suppling DC power to the solar grid Inverter which converts the solar energy into AC power. This power is directly used in the home, all excess power which isn’t consumed is used to charge the batteries.

For situations where most of the power is used when there is little or no sunlight a solar charge controller instead of a solar grid inverter is the most efficient configuration with the solar panels suppling DC power directly to the battery via a solar charge controller.

When there is insufficient power from the panels the power demand will be supplemented by the batteries. At night the home will be powered by the batteries alone.

If a generator is connected the system will automatically start and stop the generator should power demand be too high for a brief period (such as when an air-conditioner is
switched on) or if the batteries are depleted due to a long period of bad weather.
